"Living God's Word Every Day" Online Studies

Chapter topics are divided in to these 5 Studies ....starting with knowing your worldview's foundation, ....and building to understand that you probably have an assignment from Jesus ....to TELL YOUR STORY ....about being His Disciple and His Witness....

On our Quest to know God more, we understand our worldview influences choices we make in life, so its our responsibility to know what we believe and why.

On our Quest to know God more, we recognize what makes God smile. We paraphrase why Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life, ….and evaluate why He is worthy of praise and worship.

On our Quest to know God more, we describe how God wants to be involved in our lives ….and explain the range of God-Moments — from "Everyday" to "Life Marker" — we can expect living with Him.

On our Quest to know God more, we understand our Biblical worldview is built by putting on "every piece of God's armor" — Ephesians 6:13-18 — to win spiritual battles with God's help. We analyze the "Why?", "What?", and "How?" to study our Bible, so we live God's Word ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.

On our Quest to know God more, we understand God has assignments for us — to match our abilities, use spiritual gifts, and stretch us with new challenges. ....And summarize what we learned in this study by composing our personal testimony titled ...."My Life with Jesus".

Study Together Notes: How to study this website with family and friends....

Because we're on a Quest journey,

....learning to TELL OUR STORY of life with Jesus....

Beginning roots of this website....

….started back in 1968, when I was a 24-year-old graduate student at the University of Missouri. God knew this boy needed some serious help knowing what he believed and why. ....You might say I was somewhere about here >>> Hebrews 5:11-14
I recall conversations with other grad-students about everyday topics, that turned antagonistic whenever I mentioned Jesus. ....Found out I really didn’t know how to express what I believed. As my insecurities grew, I started wondering what I believed.
Then my “God-Moment” in Chapter 13 – Roger 1968 that changed my life….and started a life-long Quest to know God more. From those roots, grew the passion to write this website and discipleship study for you.
Whether young or older, if you have not yet experienced hostile conversations about believing in Jesus, you may someday. I want to help you be prepared for them, ….because I’ve been there, experienced it. Those 1968 conversations might have been different, if I had been prepared to tell "my story" about life with Jesus.
We are encouraged to....
Worship Christ as Lord of your life. And IF SOMEONE ASKS about your hope
as a believer, ALWAYS BE READY TO EXPLAIN IT.
— 1 Peter 3:15 NLT
....because your story with Jesus ....may make a difference in someone's life....
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. AND YOU WILL BE MY WITNESSES, telling people about me everywhere — in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
— Acts 1:8 NLT
....thus....

"Let's Talk..." Journals
....because....

Answering study Journal questions helps think and write about what you believe and why. Writing is the “processing” step to express your personal beliefs and values for making choices in life, ....and Know Your Worldview.

And to KNOW how to share YOUR WORLDVIEW, ....after completing Journals, ask a friend or study group to “challenge you” as a safe-space to speak from your heart about faith in Jesus, ....Who He is in your life. This “practicing” step helps learn how to say "WHY?" you believe "WHAT?" you believe. Helps TELL YOUR STORY ....about being Jesus' Disciple.

To help us keep our focus on being Jesus' Witness, I've added this note
at the end of each "Let's Talk..." journal....

....SMILE, ....yes, we have much to talk about.......

An online search for "How to study the Bible" gives an abundant list of websites with helpful suggestions on studying God's Word. A lot of good sites to consider. In the flow of our conversation, here's a few suggestions....
Chosing a Bible translation for you....

Do another online search for "how to choose the best Bible translation for you", and explore search results websites to find a good translation that suits your needs. ....Bible translations range in writing styles from "Word-For-Word" to "Paraphrase" translations. The following chart illustrates your range of options.

To test your reading preference, go to the BibleGateway.com website and read chapters like John 1 or Psalm 1. Read them in different translations until you find one you like best for your personal Bible study.
Bible study tools for you to consider....
There are a lot of good Bible study tools to choose from online. Check out these two websites that I used in writing "Let's Talk..." study journals. Perhaps, set them up as "favorites" in your web browser, ....so they are easy to access as you study God's Word.

For basic Bible searches, see website BibleGateway.com, where you can compare many different Bible translations, and search those translations for “keywords” and “topics” that you want to find and study in Scriptures.

For in-depth Bible study, checkout BlueLetterBible.org website, where you’ll find original Hebrew and Greek word definitions, comparison of Bible translations for selected verses, Cross-References, Commentaries and Dictionaries. This is a really good tool for detailed study.

....SMILE, ...okay, let's do some study Journals.
